Comfort Food at Burgoo
One of our favourite restaurants in North Vancouver is Burgoo – it has been a favourite since we moved to the area and has been a favourite since we became parents. Marketing itself with “food for comfort”, the menu features different comfort foods from around the world.
The menu offers some simple classic dishes as well as a few more complex items. Whether you want a tasty soup & sandwich combo, butter chicken or a fondue, it’s a great restaurant with a variety of options. I’ve never been displeased with their food, though I probably wouldn’t go to Burgoo if I craved butter chicken – still, the options make it a great choice when your family disagrees on what they want to eat ;)

I almost always have the strawberry lemonade when I go there, which is more often than I’d like to admit considering they remembered my drink order last time I was there! I’m a huge fan of the Burgoo biscuits and the classic Mac & Cheese – pretty much the only one I like aside from my own!
I’ve had a variety of their soups & sandwiches, butter chicken, the ratatouille, the stew and several appetizers. I’ve always wanted to have their fondue – one day!
The menu does change seasonally, though the classic dishes stay true. Since the service is quick, it’s been a restaurant that I’ve brought Aiden to quite comfortably – even with his stroller when he was quite young. It’s very family-friendly and the food has always appealed to Aiden (he loves the meatballs). Though they don’t offer food for delivery, we have used them for take-out several times.
Are you a Burgoo fan too?

Yes!!! the BLT and tomato soup combo is my ultimate rainy day lunch. I also really like the choco chilli hot pot and the French onion soup.
[...] As you know, Aiden loves to watch videos of himself on the iPhone. He asks for “baby” all the time. We usually give him a short “baby” time in the morning when we’re all a little groggy. His current favourite video is also the shortest – it’s one of him and buddy Zayden at Burgoo: [...]
