Didn’t Aiden just turn 2? Seriously??! Blows my mind. I am finally feeling somewhat better with both pain and pregnancy, which allows me to cherish more the moments that I have with Aiden. Sure, I’m still super tired, but I’m trying to remember that it won’t be long before a) I’m more tired, and b) it won’t be just Aiden and I anymore.

This month Aiden’s enunciation really took off and he’s communicating very well. He’s really been enjoying going to more structured programs like StrongStart, where he can now last for the entire session. He loves playing with other kids. Though he’s my errand buddy, he does remember what I buy now and often gets upset if he can’t have something right away (no more Christmas shopping!).

• Favourite foods include: pizza, butter chicken, bagels with cream cheese, grapes, yogurt drinks
• Loves to know the names of places we are going, whether they be stores or restaurants or play groups. Is beginning to associate days with certain activities.
• Loves to play with his toy kitchen, making up pretend dishes. Soup is his dish of choice – in many creative varieties
• Is really into his puzzles, including his more complicated alphabet puzzle. Definitely learning more letters this way!
• We just began sleep training again to stop all the stall tactics. It’s working. More on that later.
• Is picky about which shoes, jacket or hat he wears. He gets some choices to make it easier.
• Is doing better with manners. Will say ‘please’ when reminded, though says ‘thank you’ spontaneously in the right context about 50% of the time. Reminders don’t yet work for that one.
• Loves to talk about mealtime names (breakfast vs lunch vs dinner)
• Knows the context and use for the word “too”, which is neat
• Can make complex sentences
• Aiden loves to say: other one, night time, sunset, Mommy do it, Mommy pick you up, yogurt drink, [object] in there, seabus, yeah, yeah sure, no home, Aiden yike (like) it
• I love it when Aiden says: oh my gosh, Aiden cutest boy, Aiden ‘yoves’ Mommy, avocado, heli-ca-carpet (helicopter), thank you, humidifier on, raining day
• Best phrase of the month: “Aiden computer? [No, Mommy's computer] Aiden computer too. Aiden need one.”
