Dear Aiden,

Happy birthday my sweet son! I can’t believe you are three years old, just like I couldn’t believe it at two years or at one year – the days and weeks fly by! The best part of each of my days is still holding you in a hug – I love our cuddle moments as much as I love tickling you to hear your contagious belly laugh. 

You have become an amazing person before our eyes. This year you have grown up in so many ways. You sleep in a ‘big boy bed’, wear ‘big boy underwear’ during the day, go to preschool and are a big brother – so much change, and that was just in the last 5 months! On a daily basis you astound us with your imagination and your conversation abilities… I love to sit down and talk with you about your day or to come up with wild and fantastic tales to weave stories around playing with your trains.

Reading books is still one of your favourite activities – you sometimes spent hours reading at night before bed! I love sitting you on my lap and reading to you; I know these days will be fleeting and you’ll be off reading on your own before I know it! 

You have a full lust for life but are also gentle and warm. You have such love for your brother already, touching him gently with your “Aww, Damien!” moments and I hope you and your brother grow up to be great friends (even if you do fight sometimes)! 

Though you are 3 years old, you’ll always be my little baby (even if you take those moments to remind me you’re a ‘big boy’)! We are proud at each little achievement you make, from your first pictures to your confidence climbing in the park. Know that when you grow up, though you may not be dangling a painting in our face for approval, we will be just as proud of you!  

As I tell you over and over each day, I love you my Aiden, so SO SO much. You make me so happy and so proud to be your Mommy.
