The goal of Active Mama is to inspire moms to be active – to be social, to be involved, to be engaged, and to be fit. While chronicling the life of one very social toddler, we also seek to feature product reviews, mom talk, parenting discussions and what it’s like to live in Vancouver, BC.

ActiveMama.com is written by Arieanna Schweber, mom to a very outgoing toddler, Aiden. Arieanna received her a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University in 2004, with a focus on Marketing. She began corporate blogging in 2005, soon after taking the dive to be a professional blogger.

After becoming Canada’s first female professional blogger, she continued to write online and speak at events such as BlogHer. Perhaps best known for her work in b5media, where she managed a team of 30+ writers covering 70+ entertainment blogs, Arieanna also runs a Vancouver-based consulting service providing social media development and ongoing corporate writing services. Arieanna has been an active public speaker since 2005 including engagements at BlogHer and Northern Voice and is author of the e-book “Communities that Rock: Creating Kick-Ass Online Communities.”

Arieanna became a parent in October 2009 and decided to become a stay-at-home-mom, only working part-time. Not long after, she decided to begin personal blogging again, to chronicle the life of her son. Active Mama became a regionally-known brand that has since developed to include thoughts and reviews about how to be an active mama and an active woman too!

Jessica Liew is a guest contributor to ActiveMama as well as the proud mom of a very big and very social little boy. She only recently discovered blogging during the limited downtime that she has during her maternity leave from her teaching career. She also writes a cooking blog with her husband called Tonight’s Dinner.

Since giving birth to Zayden, Jessica has been enjoying her time as part of a community of active mamas on the North Shore. She hopes to share some of the challenges, joys and a-ha moments of early motherhood through her contributions to ActiveMama.
