I imagine most parents want "one of each" and then perhaps more if they are to be totally honest. I have friends on boy #3, and the mom is like, oh well, this will be easy! I have all the clothes, toys and he had buddies.

Thanks Raul & Jen. We actually heard the name in an episode or two of Spartacus. We decided then and there that, barring it not "feeling right", that was our 'girl' name. :)

Thanks for sharing that. Number two isn’t even on our radar yet and I’m already worried about potential disappointment. I’ve had this conversation with another mom who was so happy to know about her girls in advance, so she could get over the minor sting they weren’t boys & be ready to welcome her daughters wholeheartedly.

Also, Aurelia’s lovely – I’ve only heard it in my favourite movie: Love Actually.

So… when my Mom realized she had had 5 boys by the time she had me, she realized she only had "the boy mold" (aka she wasn't meant to have a baby girl). She did experience, like you did, gender disappointment. But you have seen the kind of relationship I have with my Mom. You are an extremely loving woman and a fantastic Mom, and having gender disappointment is totally natural, in my humble, non-having-kids opinion. I think you will love and adore this second baby as much as you do Aiden. My 0.02.
