Aiden Loves Thomas and Friends

Aiden likes trains

Aiden is a huge fan of the Thomas and Friends franchise. He actually received his first set of Thomas trains when we were still in the hospital with him!

Since then, his collection of trains has grown to include 3 different sets as well as a few extra train pieces. If we had more room, we would for sure have a train table. Until then, Aiden makes do with various smaller configurations of trains on the floor – always featuring at least one hill. He loves hills and bridges.

Aiden’s favourite train is Percy, so we got him a motorized Percy for Christmas. It caused a little bit of initial frustration for Aiden, when he couldn’t push it on his own, so now he has a classic wooden one too.

Aiden’s love of Thomas and Friends includes many toys and books, including:

Aiden may love Thomas, but it’s not yet an obsession. He’ll read about any train; his current favourite train books include Busy Trains and The Little Engine That Could. Additionally, while you’d expect Aiden to watch a lot of Thomas videos, he actually prefers Dora the Explorer.

Ready for Doctor Who?!

It’s no secret that I love tv. Heck, I made a living out of knowing the ins and outs of television for many years – what was good, what was likely to be good, who was likely to become a ‘star’. I still kinda do keep my foot in that sphere, though not as much.

Along the way, I became a fan of many tv shows. Too many. But some of my favorite shows are also ones that Ianiv convinced me to watch – like Doctor Who. Last year we watched the ‘newer’ portion of the series, from 2005 onward. LOVED IT. Wow. And now it’s soon to return – a minisode just aired to get us all excited:

New episodes of Doctor Who come out on April 23rd.

Aiden’s Television Debut

Aiden made his television debut today on Breakfast Television as guests of Christine Pilkington of VancouverMom.ca in a segment on dressing kids for the winter. Here’s the segment.

We woke Aiden up and whisked him out the door, feeding him breakfast in the car. Once there, he got bundled up in a fab Columbia Little D Fleece Bunting Suit with a beyond cute dino hoodie. I wish I’d known about this, or the other Columbia suits, before. Many are layered and have built-in mitts. SO MUCH SMARTER. Oh well. On top of the bunting suit, Aiden wore a Tuffo Muddy Buddy and Stonz booties.

Aiden was great while he was there. He’s pretty much a social baby, and even tried to get the host to carry him (though thankfully that was before we went on camera). It’s his kind of thing. Was a fun experience!

Aiden on Breakfast Television Tomorrow

Tune in tomorrow to Breakfast Television to see Aiden (and me) as guests of Christine Pilkington of VancouverMom.ca in a segment on dressing for the winter. We should be on at 7:40am.

For those of you who can’t be in front of the tv, the video will come online a day later and I’ll embed it here. :)
